Cookie Policy

This translation is provided for convenience only. The Bulgarian version is the authoritative, legally binding text.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site “remember” certain information — for example your cookie choices or your preferred theme.

The site also uses the browser's local storage, which works in a similar way. Below, we use “cookies” as an umbrella term for both technologies.

2. Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They are not used for tracking and need no consent.

  • kavatsi-consent — stores your choice from the banner: which categories you have allowed, the policy version and a random identifier for that choice. Lifetime: 6 months. Without it, the site would ask you on every page load.
  • Site theme— remembers whether you view the site in the light or dark theme. It is kept in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, and stays there until you clear your browser data.
  • payload-token — a session cookie for the admin panel. It is set only on signing in to the content management system and affects staff alone. Ordinary visitors never receive it.

3. Analytics — only with your consent

These help us understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view, so we can improve it. The data is processed in aggregate — we do not identify you personally. The service is Google Analytics, loaded via Google Tag Manager.

  • _ga — distinguishes individual visitors. Lifetime: up to 2 years.
  • _ga_<identifier> — maintains the state of your visit. Lifetime: up to 2 years.

4. Marketing — only with your consent

These let us measure how our advertising performs. The service is Google Ads, loaded via Google Tag Manager.

  • _gcl_au — links your visit to the advert that brought you here, so we can measure its effectiveness. Lifetime: up to 90 days.

5. What we do not use

  • We have no Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel, nor one from any other social network.
  • The cookie banner was built for this site rather than hired from an outside provider — so it sets no cookies of its own either.
  • We never sell or pass data to third parties for their own purposes.

6. How to manage your consent

On your first visit we show a banner with three options: accept all categories, decline them all, or choose individually. Until you give consent, no analytics or marketing cookies are set — we use Google Consent Mode, which keeps these services switched off until you choose otherwise.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately. After 6 months we will ask you again, rather than assume your consent holds indefinitely.

You can also delete stored cookies via your browser settings. Bear in mind that deleting kavatsi-consent will bring the banner back, as that is the very cookie your choice is stored in.

7. Records of consent given

So that we can prove consent was given, we record each choice you make: the random identifier from the kavatsi-consent cookie, which categories you allowed, the policy version and the date.

These records contain no personal data — we store no IP address, browser details or any other information that could identify you. They are deleted automatically after 6 months.

8. Third parties

The analytics and marketing cookies are set by Google. In using these services, data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, subject to appropriate safeguards under EU law.

9. Your rights and contact

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict processing, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP).

Who is responsible for processing your data, how to exercise your rights and where to contact us can all be found in the Privacy Policy.
